• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

    Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

    Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

    gogogooooooo!!!! I just wrote a scene where Alex punches through a prevampire's chest. She like. She's all "oh, shit, I wish I had a crossbow/stake/something" and then she's like "oh, wait, I'm basically invulnerable and super strong" so she just punches it through its chest. :D

    Alex is still a super capable fighter of supernatural beings. She's meant to be reluctant. I guess she can be both for now? ;;

    There are two things you can do, really: push through and just write it so you're done with it, or ignore it and come back to it later. The former isn't really in the spirit of NaNo because it's going to be fairly slow going if you really don't want to write it, so what I'd suggest is that you...

    Yeah, um, apparently my main character is having prophetic visions now. I don't even know how that happened but she had a trippy dream sequence where the sky was on fire and the grass was bleeding and then she saw the end of the world. or it was just a dream.

    I think I beat my record of having characters die. One of my main characters died on like the first page. Um. It's okay though she's still relevant!!!!!! I'm going to do more writing later because right now I'm tied up with statistics and numbers and all sorts of values for things. I hope to...

    Yeah. I mean. If you can run at it without clearly defined goals that's excellent, and is in fact how I won the only time I've won, but I think (hope) as person I've changed since 2007 and I require something more to actually push me to finish. So. Preparedness! and such. and I'm kind of...

    I have NO IDEA why I'm doing NaNo because November is when I actually have to start doing things (seriously October's been a complete waste of time) but w/e w/e I do what I want. I think I have an actual shot at finishing this year, too, since I actually know what's supposed to happen!! I...

    How's everyone else feeling? Pumped? Anxious? Not at all ready? I'm finding it okay so far. I really don't know how I'll cope in November but right now I'm really glad that I decided to do this because it gives me a definite goal for each day, something which I have to complete before I can do...

    asdfghjkl a MONTH I just I mean aaaaaa I have my plot completed. I know exactly what's going to happen for about 70% of the scenes. I know my main character like the back of my hand. My supporting characters are still basically cardboard cutouts, though. Um. AAAAAAAAAA plus I think November...

    Last year I almost managed it but I gave up fairly easily. I went home for the weekend and I just stopped writing, and when I got back I didn't continue. I think a large part of it was my complete lack of direction -- I just had a vague idea that "this sort of has to happen I guess probably"...

    It's international. Don't let its name fool you there. You can also write in any language with which you're comfortable, whether that's English or French or Quenya or Klingon. It doesn't matter!
